Things to Do

stretches from Powerhouse Park to a lagoon on the San Dieguito River. The beach to the north of the lagoon is popularly known as Del Mar Dog Beach. Dogs are allowed to use the beach freely except during the summer when they must be on a leash. Del Mar Dog Beach

is another summer highlight you won’t want to miss. The summer racing season begins in July with around 30,000 spectators cheering on the first day of races. The Opening Day Hats Contest adds to the party atmosphere, with attendees competing to bring along the most eye-catching headwear.
